MUNCIE- Eleanor Louise Jester, 94, passed away on Monday evening, October 22, 2018 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Bryant, Indiana on March 27, 1924, the daughter of James E. Logan and Amy (McCullough) Logan. She graduated from Muncie Central High School and served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mrs. Jester worked at Warner Gear. She was an active member of Avondale United Methodist Church for seventy-one years, PTA president, Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, was a member of Muncie Planning Commission, involved in Civic Leadership, and VP of League of Women voters at the time of the ERA.
Surviving are sister, Mary Ellen Marsh (Don); three children, Sue Metzcar (Mike), Evelyn Jester, and Robert Jester (Sandi); eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-one years, Herbert G. Jester, her parents, brother, Donald E. Logan, and an infant daughter, Helen Jester.
Graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Elm Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites by the United States Army and Veterans of Delaware County.
