Tom was a member of the Columbia Club, Indianapolis, a life member of the Junto Club of Muncie, a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and

Sons of the American Legion Post 19, and the Muncie Noon Kiwanis Club.

Tom served on many local boards including:  Housing Authority of Delaware County, Alcoholic Beverage Commission, Board of Directors of Friends of Bracken Library, Delaware County Fair Board, Delaware County EDIT Board, Civic Center Authority Board and was Past President of the Delaware County Historical Society.
