Oakville – Gerald R. Wisehart, 81, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Shirley, Indiana on December 26, 1935, the son of Alonzo and Millie Francis Wisehart and graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1953. On June 21, 1959 in Sulphur Springs Christian Church, Gerald married Joan E. Burcaw.

He served his country honorably in The United States Army. Gerald was an avid builder, adding on a garage and rooms to his family home.

He retired from Westinghouse/ABB after working field service on large power transformers for many years.

Gerald never complained about his illness and was always concerned about others. He enjoyed the company of friends at his favorite hang-outs, Macs, Hunicutts and 12th Street Café. Gerald loved gardening and giving his tomatoes to neighbors and friends. His pride and joy was his 1953 Minneapolis Moline Z-Model tractor.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Miller (husband, Jack) of Shirley; three daughters, Jennifer White (husband, Jerry) of Parker City, April Wisehart Johnson (husband, Clyde) of Ohio, and June Ann Wisehart of Oakville; one grandson, Austin White of Parker City.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Joan Wisehart in 2016; five siblings; and his parents.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Tomlinson Cemetery.
