MUNCIE- Helen Frances Lawrence went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 8, 2018 in her home at Freedom Village in Holland, MI.  Helen lived a full 102 years, using each day of her life to share God’s love with those around her.  She was known for her ever-present smile and her caring ways.
Helen was born August 12, 1916 in New Sheffield, PA, the daughter of Fred and Frances Schultheis.  She had four brothers and one sister who have all preceded her in death.  Helen, and Donald Lawrence who preceded her in death, married in 1942 and they shared 50 love-filled years.  Helen and Don lived most of their years together in Muncie, IN.  After helping to raise her four children, Helen worked 10 years at Ball State University in the Alumni Development Office.
Helen was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Women’s Assoc., Legion of Mary, Daughters of Isabella, BSU’s Women’s Club and was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader.  Helen took special interest in gardening, bird watching, flower arranging, square and round dancing, ballroom dancing and playing cards.
Helen is survived by her son, Charles Lawrence (Jeri) of Denver, CO, and her three daughters Carol Eatherly of Ashland, OR, Barb Pearson (Mike) of Holland, MI and Patti Boddiford (Edward) of Sylvania, GA.  She had eight grandchildren: Brett Lawrence, Andrea and Jonathan Eatherly, Darren (Claire) Pearson, Robyn (Cory) Stewart, Michael Pearson, Christi (Dennis) Pillion, and Chip (Caroline) Boddiford.  She also was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Joseph, Mason and Gavin.
Special thanks to Westminster Village, Muncie and Freedom Village, Holland, MI for the loving care given.  The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care given during the last year and a half of Helen’s life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, with Father Andrew Dudzinski presiding. Entombment will follow at Elm Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum.

Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018.
