Muncie – Hurston S. “Sonny” Graham, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 27, 2018 at his residence.

He was born in Muncie on July 1, 1935 the son of Hurston S. and Veda Marie (Johnson) Graham, graduated from Center High School, served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, and then served in the US Air Force.

Mr. Graham was employed at Warner Gear for thirty-six years prior to his retirement in 1990.

He was a member of Moose Lodge #33 and was an avid fisherman enjoying lake Monroe and fishing in Canada. Sonny also enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, and watching football.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Virginia; two sons, James Graham (Kristina Pierce), Mooresville and Scott Graham (Stephanie), Muncie; four grandchildren, Collin James Graham, Lyndsay Nichole Edwards, Kelsay Morgan Cox, and Jeremy Andrew Cox; a great-granddaughter, Melody Cox; two sisters, Betty Shick and Barbara Taylor; a brother, Noel “Pinky” Graham; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lavera Graham and Sue Hale; and a brother, Samuel Graham.

A celebration of his life will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.

Graveside memorial services will be held in Mt. Tabor Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on April 7, 2018 with Pastor Rory Bond officiating and Military Rites by the US Air Force and Veterans of Delaware County.
