YORKTOWN- Jack H.May (“Cadillac Jack”), 70, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 31st, 1947 in Muncie, the son of Leo ¨Jack¨ May, Georgia (Daugherty) Ross, and Francis May. Jack served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea.
Jack worked at Borg Warner for thirty years and proudly served as a Chairman of the Bargaining Committee for the UAW Local 287. After retirement, he worked at MD’s Golf Academy with Doug Bishop as both an attendant and as an instructor in the Junior Golf Program. He loved nothing more than mentoring students and helping young golfers reach their potential as both athletes and individuals.
Outside of work, Jack loved spending time with his children, family and friends. He spent many years coaching and playing competitive softball, ultimately winning two state championships. Since his youth, he had an affinity for the Central Bearcats and loved to watch his favorite team, the Yankees.
Jack’s unique personality and magnetic charisma helped him develop many lifelong friendships. His naturally goofy, flirty, fun, and witty character will be sorely missed, and his family and friends will continue to cherish his memory and share his stories.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Kelly (Rhodes) May; four children, Mary K. May, Courtney Bennett (Nick), Josh May, and Christian May; grandchildren, Vanessa Lee (Dustin), Jacob Westlake, Mariah Haffner (Andy), Zoei Stoops, Sunny Conlon; three great-grandchildren, Abram, Eden, and Isabella; two sisters, Penny Digman and Mary Norris; cousin, Bruce May; best friend, Rick Walls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathy Paris.
Family and friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5th at Meeks Mortuary. A private memorial service will be held at 6:30 for family and close friends.
