Selma – Karen A. Hobbick Hatcher, 69, went to be with the Lord peacefully Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2018, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in Winchester on April 23, 1949 the daughter of Markle J. and Violet M. (Patterson) Hobbick. Karen was a member of the last graduating class of Selma High School in 1967 and attended Ball State University and Amber’s Beauty College.

She was employed with various trucking companies and operated a beauty shop out of her home.

Karen was a member of Parker 53 Home-Ec Club, Selma Women’s club, Eastern Star, Jobs Daughters, and Selma American Legion #437 Auxiliary, attended Christ United Methodist Church in Selma, and enjoyed crafts, toll painting, going to the lake cottage, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughter, Jodie Hatcher, Selma; four grandchildren, Eric, Alyssa, Amanda, and Erica Jordan; two great grand-children, Emma Croyal and Kameron Kadinger; her sister, Jana Ingram (Tom), Selma; her niece, Kara Grindstaff (Matt); two nephews, Jason Ingram (Kellie) and Michael Ingram (Amy); great nieces and nephews, Samantha, Shelby, and Jaileigh Ingram, Kendra Hensley, and Noah and Luke Grindstaff; her neighbors, Jerry and Vonda Brewer and Bob and Martha Clayburn; and her special companion, Boo.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Dennis Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday or one hour prior to services on Friday.
