Muncie – Lynn Darrah Shoot, 84, a resident of Westminster Village, passed away Thursday morning, March 22, 2018, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Charles City, IA on June 5, 1933 the daughter of W. Herbert and Irene (Packer) Darrah, graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines, IA, attended Iowa State College, in Ames, IA, graduated from IUPUI, and retired from Railroadmen’s Savings Bank in Indianapolis.

Lynn was a very active volunteer in her lifetime. When her children were young, she was a Den mother and a Girl Scout troop leader for several years. Wherever she lived, she volunteered on the altar guild at church. When she retired to Keowee Key, SC, she played golf in a ladies league and was a member of the Keowee Key Synchers, a senior synchronized swimming group that performed in the Senior Games in Texas in 1995. After moving to Muncie in 2012, she became a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

Surviving are her four children, Leslie Mounts (husband, Dave), Muncie, Leigh Pefley (husband, Gary), Naples, FL, L. Ray Shoot (wife, Linda), Reynoldsburg, OH, and Lloyd Shoot (wife, Mary Ann), Carmel; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty years, Lyle E. Shoot who died in 2012; and her brother, Robert Darrah.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church on Moore Rd., Muncie. Friends may call at the church 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Her cremains will be interred at Ascension Episcopal Church, 214 Northampton Rd., Seneca, SC 29672.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice or to Grace Episcopal Church, 300 S. Madison St., Muncie, IN 47305.
