MUNCIE- Millicent “Millie” Banks passed away after a long-suffering illness on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Mill Run, Pennsylvania on April 8, 1943, the fourth child of William Richard Burley and Mary Millicent Burley, nee Cox. She lived and traveled throughout the country, but lived in South Carolina for 30 years.

An avid hand crotchetier, Millie loved to give away her hand-made crafts. She was also an active member and office holder in several veterans associations, including the VFW Auxiliary, with her husband, Larry. She was a devoted parent and grandparent who generously gave her time and energy to family, friends, and even strangers.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Larry “Baby” Banks; her sons, Bart Horne (wife, Teresa) and John Horne (wife, Terri); her daughter, Mary Horne (husband, Dustin Green); her step-son, James “Butch” Banks; her granddaughter, Nastassia Snaden; her grandsons, Leonard “Buddy” Blake and John Barnabas “JB” Horne; her brothers, William Burley and Richard Burley (wife, Glena); her sisters-in-law, Susan Burley and Janice Burley; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Avigayle Ruth Horne and Cecelia Faith Horne; her mother and father; her sister, Arminda Olive; her brothers, Samuel Burley and Gerald Burley; her sister-in-law, Elsa Burley; and her nephew, Allen Burley.

There will be no services and cremation will take place.
