MUNCIE- Phillip “Phil” R. Rowe, 79, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017.

He was born in Jamestown, KY on March 31, 1938, the son of Sarah J. (Glover) Rowe.

After High School following his older brother’s footsteps he joined the United States Army. He was happily married twenty-six years to the love of his life, Susan “Susie” Kear Rowe until her passing on February 21, 1996.

Mr. Rowe owned and operated Phil’s Upholstery for over fifty years. He was an elder at Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He loved being outdoors, birds, horses, and most importantly his grandchildren.

Survivors include his two daughters, Tami Robinson (husband, Steve) and Theresa Moreno (husband, Jason); brother, Berlin Rowe (wife, Ruth); grandchildren, Kyla Simon (husband, Eric), Brant Robinson (wife, Jenna), Brea Robinson, Ian Robinson, Trent Robinson, Susie Smith, Joshua Taylor, Edith Taylor, Tyler Rowe, and Courtney Rowe; great-grandchildren, Camden Simon, Carter Simon, Peyton Robinson, and expecting a great-granddaughter in January 2018; sister-in-law, MaryLou Rowe; special friend, Jane Hines; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Susan Kear Rowe, brother, Kermise Rowe, and grandparents, Fred T. and Sarah J. Rowe.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1404 W Cowing Dr., Muncie, IN 47304. Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel or one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
