Muncie – Sheila McIntyre Kelley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, of Muncie, age 60, passed away peacefully with her daughter present at St. Vincent’s Heart Hospital in Carmel, IN on July 18, 2017, after complications with her third open heart surgery. She was born October 3, 1956 to Bert and Geraldine McIntyre in Muncie, IN.
Sheila was married to John B. (Jack) Kelley for 35 years and they have one daughter, Kara (Tim Wilson) in Muncie. She is also survived by granddaughters Hailey Wilson and Emily Wilson, Stepdaughter Amy Gothard (husband Tony), in Muncie and her children Chloe and Mia, brother in law Mark Kelley (wife Diane) in West Pueblo, CO and sister-in-law Denise Kelley, Muncie plus several nieces and nephews. Similarly, Sheila leaves many long-term friends and coworkers that she was especially proud to know and be associated with.
Sheila graduated from Wapahani High School, class of 1974 and Ball State University with an Associate’s Degree in Arts in Secretarial Sciences in 1976. She was an Administrative Development Assistant in University Development at Ball State University for the past 10 years. Former employment included Ball Corporation, law offices of Dennis, Wenger and Abrell and being self-employed; providing secretarial services. Her volunteer career includes Ball Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, past President and Legal Secretaries of Muncie, past President. She also organized teams for the annual heart walk in Morrow Meadows for the American Heart Association and this past year her team was the top fund raiser.
Sheila loved to travel, especially to the ocean and the beach. She enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean and the East Indies, visiting several islands in that region. Her favorite activities included taking care of and playing with granddaughters, planning parties, scrap booking, reading, shopping and planting flowers. She also enjoyed her “Lunch Bunch” and “Dinner Club.”
Sheila was proceeded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law, Tim, Paul, Pat and Lynn.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Friends and family may also call from 10:00a.m. util 12:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
