MUNCIE- Thomas “Bruce” Feeney, 65, died at home Tuesday, August 28, 2018, after a yearlong battle with lung cancer.
Bruce was born in Houston, Texas on April 2, 1953 and was adopted in 1956 by Tom and Mary Feeney. Raised in Muncie, Bruce graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1971. Following high school Bruce joined the Army and spent thirteen years on active duty, serving in Germany, Korea, Japan, and the United States. Afterward, living in Germany he worked as a photographer for the Department of Defense for several years.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas C. Feeney and Mary E. Fruitt, his son, David L. Feeney, and his best friend, Dennis E. Holcomb.
He is survived by his beloved partner in life, Nada F. Amburn; sister, Sarona Burchard, Phoenix, AZ; brother, Mike Feeney (Roberta), Indianapolis, IN; son, Thomas Michael Feeney (Schellie), Muncie; daughter, Juli Vandiver (Greg), Indianapolis, IN; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five nephews.
Bruce loved his free time and hobbies. An avid vinyl record collector, he loved music of all genres. He enjoyed restoring vintage radios and record players and was an active member of several related Facebook groups and The Radio Museum based in Lucern, Switzerland.
The family wishes to thank I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Center and I.U. Hospice for their compassionate care over the past year.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
