MUNCIE- Timothy W. Sollars, 67, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2018, after a battle with cancer that he fought with his strong will and passion, showing grace, pride and dignity throughout.

Tim was born in Muncie,Indiana on February 12,1951 to Verlin and Helen Sollars. He resided in Muncie his entire life. He graduated in 1969 from Muncie Central High School. Following high school, he followed in his fathers footsteps and continued the family trade as an electrical contractor. Tim began his own business, Delaware Electric, in 1984 and worked on projects in Delaware and the surrounding counties for the last 35 years.

He enjoyed the summer the most, boating, camping, and spending time out at the reservoir with friends and family. He was the grillmaster supreme and the captain of his family’s ship. He also enjoyed traveling for vacation and visits to see family.

Tim was an avid sports fan. Even as die hard IU, Pacers and Colts fan, he could be counted on to always root for the Indiana home team. He always looked forward to his special Sunday baseball days with his children.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rebecca (Howell) Sollars, his 3 children, Marcus, Jennifer, and Tina (Craig Davey), his 3 grandchildren, Chase, Alexis, and Hailee Davey. He was the oldest of 7 children, and was the big brother to Cheryl Brown, Tony Sollars (Sue), Greg Sollars (Linda), Mara McCarty (Tom), Jeff Sollars, and Lisa Holt (Mack), his brother in law, Don Howell (Linda), and his sister in laws Nancy Crabtree and Karen Neal (Barney). He also had his bonus sons- Jason, Bobby, and Nathan. Tim had 18 nieces and nephews, 31 great, and 3 great great. He enjoyed the kids at family gatherings. He was loved for his silliness, his gentle disposition, and the affection he showed them.

He was preceded in death by his father Verlin W. Sollars, a brother in law, Boyd (Jr) Crabtree, and bonus son Chris Fyffe.
