MUNCIE – Ferrell William Conner Jr., age 62, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children on May 1, 2021 after a long battle with renal failure.

Ferrell was born on December 17, 1958 to Ferrell William Conner Sr. and Shirley Conner (Smith) at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. A graduate of Eastbrook High School, he ended his high school career by enlisting in the United States Army shortly before his 18th birthday. Ferrell will always be remembered as a rough exterior man with a heart of gold. A carpenter at heart, Ferrell always took great pride in his handy work around his Muncie home and all the establishments in the Muncie area that he had a hand in building. Ferrell served in the United States Army for 17 years as the head of the kitchen and after his military service worked construction at Attlin Construction for 18 years, ending his career at Exide Technologies as the supervisor of the maintenance department. Ferrell held close his pride and work ethic and when he wasn’t working long hours, he was spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ferrell enjoyed the simple things in life – camping, building fires, sneaking candy to his grandchildren, working on his home, his love for cussing, and his western cowboy movies.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ferrell W. Conner Sr, his mother, Shirley Dickison (Smith), and his sister, Sabrina Rohan (Conner). He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, DeeAnn Conner, who made it a point to show him that love is unconditional, there is no ‘step’ in family, and hugs are *always* two arms. His children, Rosanna Conner (Jason), Steven Miller, Austin Kuhl, Jessica Conner, and Vincent Trejo. A feisty German Shepard he appropriately names Jack(a**); and will be remembered fondly by his four grandchildren, Dacealanna, Breelynn, Delilah, and Aurora, as their feisty an honery Pop Pop who without a doubt always had candy to share.

Ferrell leaves behind a legacy to his family, that regardless of choices, change is always an option. Strength and resilience are key, and hardwork always pays off in the end. He will be remembered by his family as a stubborn, bull headed, strong, skilled, and full of the special type of love only he could give, and few could understand.
