FAIRMOUNT – John Michael (Mike) Raef, Sr., 75, passed away on March 24, 2021.
He was born in Fort Pierce, FL on July 7, 1945, the son of John C. Raef and Lola Deloris Raef and graduated from Southside High School in Muncie.
Mike honorably served in the United States Army. He later worked at Ball Brothers as a Mold Maker, followed by a career at Chrysler as a Tool and Die Maker until his retirement.
He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and his coon dogs. He was an avid coon hunter and a lifetime member of Western Howard County Conservation Club. He won the Autumn Oaks in 1985 and was a world champion with ACHA twice. He was in the UKC Final 4 once.
Mike is survived by Deborah Raef; His son, Junior (Brittainy), Daughter-in-law, Angie; His Brother, Gary (Anita) Raef, and his grandchildren; Lucy Raef, Walker Raef, and Magnolia Raef.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Brandon Raef.
Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
