Muncie – Lauren E Fraze, 78, passed away Sunday from complications of COVID.

Lauren was born November 29, 1942 and was raised in Saratoga, IN where he enjoyed playing basketball for his high school team.  Lauren was a veteran of the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Ord in California.  Lauren enjoyed driving a semi, painting and farming for many years.

He is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Lana Hiestand Fraze, six children, five beloved step children, Nicholas Hiestand (wife Sheri), Cherie Weaver, Brent Hiestand (wife Jana), Ryan Hiestand (wife Kelli) and Maleah Hiestand Thurman (husband Lynn) along with 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren all of whom he cherished deeply on.  Lauren’s greatest joy was sharing in the lives of those he held most dear.

Lauren was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Mary Fraze and a grandson, Levi Hiestand.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 Isanogel Rd., Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga, Indiana.

Lauren Eugene Fraze, 78, of Muncie, Indiana passed away on October 3, 2021 due to complications from Covid.  Lauren was born on November 29, 1942 to Ray and Mary (Mock) Fraze in Winchester, Indiana.  After he graduated in 1961 from Ward-Jackson High School in Saratoga, Indiana he went on to become a self-employed painter, semi-truck driver and farmer. Lauren also served his country in the Army National Guard from 1961 to 1963.

He was predeceased by his parents and brothers-in-law Vince Campbell and Ervin Fratus.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Lana Hiestand-Fraze, his children David (Toni) Mangas, Mike (Jennifer) Mangas, Daniel (Kelly) Mangas, Mark Mangas, Kevin Fraze and Traci Fraze, his twin sister Karen (Vince) Campbell, sister Madelyn (Ervin) Fratus and several nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
