Muncie – Troy D. Manship passed away peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born November 9, 1953, here in Muncie, to Floyd and Devonna Manship.
Troy was an avid racing fan and he worked at The Indy 500 racetrack for many years. The majority of his summer weekends were spent preparing for and attending the races. He was employed by Maxon and retired after 26 years. Teaching his grandchildren is what he loved and did best. They were the love of his life. He took extreme measures to provide for his family, and he always showed up.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents and five uncles.
Left to cherish his memory are, his beautiful wife of 38 years, Marimarie, three children; Chad McCollum, Wendi (Sean) Tyus, Kreg (Brittany) Manship, nine grandchildren; Auston, Mackenzie, Alaira, Kourtland, Danielle, Caine, Caleb, Sean, Ruby, one great-grandchild; Bradley, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held on November 27, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Knights of Columbus, 3600 W. Purdue Ave., Muncie, IN.
The Manship family would like to give special thanks to Bethel Point Rehabilitation, Heart to Heart Hospice and Lifestream for their excellent care and attention during these difficult times.
