Muncie – Wanda Rachel (Wake) Clark, 95, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital after a long battle with kidney disease.

Wanda was born on August 25, 1923 in Muncie, the daughter of Lavere Bell Ditton Wake and John T. Wake. When she was twelve, her grandmother needed someone to live with her and Wanda was the one to help. She lived many years with her grandmother Rachel Wake until her death in 1949.

Wanda was a 1941 graduate of Muncie Central High School and went to work in a dime store in downtown Muncie. She married Charles A. Clark on December 7, 1941 and they spent the next sixty-four years together until his death in 2005. Wanda had a son and a daughter and was a long-time member of the Muncie Seventh Day Adventist Church where she taught the primary children class for many years until she lost most of her eyesight.

On vacations Wanda loved to travel and she had been in all of the continental United States and Canada. She loved seeing things in nature and she loved working in her flowers and growing some vegetables. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2005; her son-in-law, Stephen Harris in 2006; her sisters, Juanita Brenner and Virginia Barker; her brothers, Clarence Ditton, John Wake Jr., George Aaron Wake, Merle Wake, Earl Wake and Chester Wake.

Surviving are her son, Charles F. Clark (Carolyn) of Katy, Texas; her daughter, Sharon Harris of Muncie; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Jok (Alex) and Thomas Clark (Melissa) both of Katy, Texas; als surviving are six great-grandchildren, Bradley Clark, Nicholas Clark, Zachary Clark, Ashley Clark, Caroline Jok and Nathaniel Jok; two sisters, Joan Swift and Alice Marienau; along with many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Private burial will take place in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Muncie Seventh Day Adventist Church, 14104 West Cowing Drive, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
